As an additional task between our still life and croquis classes, we got to choose a personal item to study and draw in whichever setting one likes.
I picked a pair of headphones, as I enjoy listening to music and ignoring the annoying outside world. Worked a lot on the shading, but kept the hair simplistic and unshaded, and colored it brownish red.
The paper has a warm yellowish tone to it, which might not look too awesome against this white background on screen, but it really brings out the shading better this way than if I photoshop it completely white...

Hubba hubba, sorry but best set of headphones I've seen ;) I used to put headphones on at work so people thought I couldn't hear them, so naughty, I was a little anti social at times & usually if you ignored, the person would wander off, didn't do it with nice people though (only my crappy boss) - love your drawing :) & I don't even know what "croquis classes" are, have to look that up!
ReplyDeleteGreat combination! Love all the shading done on the body. :)

ReplyDeleteBeautiful work.. love your style with drawing young men with a twist. What makes you decide to go to art school? Are you also working? Going to art school has always been my dream but I seem don't know how to balance it since I have a full time job.. short courses sound interesting but i am not sure if it can help me. Anyway great site! You can contact me at my website if you like. Thanks!
